Notacanthiformes

Notacanthiformes is an order of deep sea ray-finned fishes, consisting of the families Halosauridae and Notacanthidae (spiny eels). The species are eel like and the caudal fin has disappeared from the species. The Notacanthiformes have a leptocephalous ("glass eel") larval stage.
